🚨Introducing Decision Making Analysis
-We often talk about a players decision making in situations. Whether a carry backwards was a good decision or not, whether the pass allowed the receiver to progress or was the receiver tackled etc etc
-I decided to approach this problem without using any advanced metrics and purely looking at actions, the cause and the outcome.
-Decision rating takes into account whether the pass from the player allowed the receiver to carry it uncontested or were they tackled. It takes into account whether carrying back was a good decision, how good a player was while carrying forward.
-It also looks at tempo control, ability to make a pass that buys their teammate time, ability to resist tackles, draw fouls and much more.
All in all, it's an attempt to look at a player's Decision making, Vision and Composure.
The tables showcase different things like which player got the most time on the ball from their pass, how many of these passes allowed the teammate to run into space uncontested.
Below is an example using PL Winger/AMs as the pool and looking at Rayan Cherki, who ranks 2nd for his decision making among these players.

Worked on something last night that summarizes my work on Tempo Control, Hold-Up, creation, passing, regress-to-progress all into one. The visual is finally ready. So excited to share this with you. Stay tuned.
