Biggest question I can think of: How to couple computation with autodidactism?

Also is there a hint in the spelling of the word… “did act”?

Is a proactive nature the key?
1
Statement: the only thing that separates a sentient being from a non-sentient being is the ability to set goals

Though of course LLMs will be extremely helpful in assisting us with the execution of those goals

So it seems to be a nod towards symbiotic relationship between humans/LLMs (computational AI)
9
Hypothesis: LLM don’t need to be able to predict like a world model would, if your goal is to focus on achieving goals in modern society.

This is because humans are not rational, and so the ground truth to strive for is not “predict what will happen in the real world” but how would a human react.

And LLM have a large enough corpus of human data to be able to determine how a human would react better than humans themselves.

“Short-term memory” and “long-term memory” (for both biological and artificial/computational systems) is a misnomer. Time is not the variable we should be focused on. Memory isn’t time-bound in the way most of us think. Instead, there is just working memory.

Everything else (what we’d refer to as “long-term memory) is just a database. Storing information in a database is a solved issue.

The issue at hand is retrieval of information into working memory so we (biological computational intelligence) can make good decisions, and take proper actions.

I agree with folks saying with should call it “CI” (computational intelligence) not “AI” (artificial intelligence). The knowledge is still “us” — so the artificial part seems like a misnomer.
5
Are our ideas about “what we want to be when we grow up” environmental (something that develops based on our early years)? Or is this something predetermined and imprinted on our DNA (tantamount to a system prompt)?
6
Is the reason we seem to have inexorable growth nature’s way of preventing division by zero? And why stasis = annihilation?

Is @babylonjs down at the moment? Seems like some sort of outage happening?

Our company, Bitreel, is looking for a #Houdini generalist to convert an existing HDA from quadtree to octree. We can pay $US upfront for the project. Expect it would only take a couple of days for an experienced tech artist. Know anyone interested? @sidefx @HoudiniSchool
