If your product takes more than 10 seconds to try, it’s not for casuals. It’s for insiders, and that’s okay as long as you stop pretending otherwise.

Designing for hesitation 101: how to build for users who are unsure.

Most products assume the user is ready. Ready to connect, ready to spend, ready to commit. But most users aren’t. They’re unsure. They pause, they reread, they hesitate. That’s not bad UX. That’s a real user trying not to mess up. So what helps? • Clear outcomes before any action • Obvious exits, not just next steps • A product that says “You can try this,” not “You have to finish this” The best UX doesn’t just make things simple. It makes them safe to explore.

Trust in Web3 is usually framed as a security problem, but most users don’t leave because they felt unsafe. They leave because they weren’t sure what would happen when they clicked. If I tap this, will I lose my money? If I sign this, can I undo it later? If I try this, will I look stupid? That is the real trust gap, not security, but reversibility. Trust is not built by telling people your code is audited, it is built when they click once, feel safe, and return again tomorrow.

The real trust gap in Web3 isn’t security, it’s reversibility.

Everyone loves saying Web3 is broken. Too many chains. Too many wallets. Too many steps. But saying it's broken doesn't make you early. Building something better does. • If the wallet flow sucks, fix the first click • If onboarding is confusing, show users what to do, not just tell • If engagement looks fake, design something worth showing up for

Everyone says “you’re early” in Web3. But what does that actually mean? It’s not about buying the right token first. It’s not about aping into an unreleased project. And it’s definitely not about being loud on Twitter with a PFP. Being early means you're doing things when they're still inconvenient. • You use the product before the UX is smooth • You learn the concept before the content is polished • You show up before there’s an obvious reward You're early when the tech barely works and you still want to figure it out. You're early when the questions outweigh the answers. But here’s the flip side: • Being early also means helping shape what comes next. • You give the feedback that makes V1 possible • You find bugs no one else cared to report • You’re not just a user, you’re part of the story It’s not always fun. It rarely feels cool. But when things finally click, you know you had a hand in it. That’s what being early really means.

The best shoutouts don’t come from the biggest names. They come from people who actually tried the product.

Merch is easy to ship but meaning is not. The best projects treat merch like product: • Makes users feel like insiders • Turns community into culture • Starts conversations in the real world • Reminds people of a moment they were part of And when merch lacks meaning, it shows: • There is no story behind it • Just a logo on a generic tee • Sent to random users, not real contributors • No connection to the product or its community Done well, merch is a retention tool and hence it's important to design your merch the way you design your products, with purpose and your real users in mind.
