I am seriously considering deleting this account. I find myself using it less and less, and even when I do I hardly get a fraction of the engagement from mutuals that used to happen pre-Musk. So many have left already or migrated elsewhere or found IRL success and moved on.

For me, this place used to be an escape from a shitty life with no film friends or filmmaking circle. I found those connections here. Now that I'm finally free from that life, and I have those connections IRL and growing all the time, I find myself less compelled to log on here.

So I'm gonna try and just let it go for a while. I shot over 3 dozen short films this last year, and I plan to do just as many, if not more, this year. Filmmaking is my life now, finally. But if you'd like to stay connected: instagram.com/refocusedmedia… letterboxd.com/refocusedmedi…

I worry that your enjoyment of art is becoming secondary to tracking and charting your consumption of that art for many of you

most of the nolan "criticisms" on here are just people crying about what they wanted the movie to be instead of actually engaging with what it tries to do

One of the things I loved about MARTY SUPREME is its dedication to making Timmy’s skin look like shit

Ben Affleck is 1000% vindicated for beasting on Spielberg’s bratty son who shoved him in the pool first

😬 Steven Spielberg is no fan of Ben Affleck and even refused to work with the actor after an incident involving the legendary director's child, according to Mike Binder. tmz.me/eLAugoA 🎥: One Bad Movie

the AI art obsession is inextricably narcissist. the bedrock belief is that an individual could make works as great and beloved as the classics everyone knows if only they could get around that pesky technical skill gap
This is a funny video but also why is so much AI content focused on selfies

One of the biggest bullshit sentiments in modern film discourse alongside “depiction = endorsement”
btw you don't have to personally relate or completely feel represented by a story to feel moved and delighted by it
