Honored to receive the 2026 Cancer Patient Champion Award from the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Army of Pink, and Prevent Blindness Iowa today. The Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Act is one of the most important bills I have fought for, because catching cancer early saves lives. Rising rates in Iowa remind us this fight is far from over, and I am not stopping.🎗️🇺🇸

Their volunteers show up every single day to make sure Iowans facing food insecurity have food on the table, clothes on their backs, and the essentials they need, serving many families across Warren County. Since Keokuk’s troubled hospital closed in 2022, my office has been working to re-establish care in the community through a Rural Emergency Hospital designation. I’ve met with local leaders, written letters, and fought for funding, because Lee County deserves access to quality emergency care close to home. That work is paying off. The $825,000 in Community Project Funding I secured has put Insight on a promising path toward reopening, and this week a key public meeting was held at City Hall to discuss next steps. I’m hopeful for the people of Lee County and will keep fighting until this gets done. 🏥🇺🇸

Six straight. Republicans have now won SIX consecutive Congressional Baseball Games! 🏆 But the real win? $3.2 million raised for charity. That’s what this game is all about. Great team effort all around, and a special shoutout to game MVP @SenEricSchmitt who left it all on the field. ⚾🇺🇸

We also discussed the importance of ingredient and labeling uniformity to provide clarity for consumers and support American manufacturers.

Nice meeting with the Home Builders Association during National Homeownership Month to discuss the 21st Century Road to Housing Act, which recently passed the House to make buying and renting more affordable for Iowa families. We also talked workforce development, permitting reform, and protecting energy choice. Iowa families deserve a real shot at the American Dream. 🏠🇺🇸

Great meeting with Amsted Rail to discuss the vital role they play in supporting America’s freight and transit rail systems. Their Keokuk facility employs 210 hardworking Iowans with high-quality manufacturing jobs and helps strengthen our supply chains. We also discussed the importance of permitting reform and investing in critical infrastructure to support continued economic growth, strengthen our transportation networks, and keep Iowa manufacturing competitive.

Had a productive meeting with Iowa members of the Financial Services Institute to discuss expanding access to affordable, objective financial advice for hardworking Main Street Iowa businesses. I appreciated the opportunity to hear from Iowa financial advisors and firms and discuss ways to support local businesses and economic growth.

Usually you don’t wish yourself a happy birthday, but when the Army drops cupcakes off at your office ahead of their 251st this Sunday, it’s hard not to smile. As a 24-year veteran, I’m proud to celebrate with them. 🎂⭐🇺🇸
