Was this the plan all along? If @ABDanielleSmith puts Lukaszuk’s question on the ballot, the separatists will take her out as @Alberta_UCP leader by the end of summer, if not sooner. Now she can do whatever she wants.
Replying to @CarrieTait
And that means the committee did ** not ** recommend cabinet add the secession question to the referendum ballot. They ran out of time. No motion.

"This is spitting in the face of democracy," NDP member Christina Gray said. From the retracted UCP release: "Albertans will be informed once Cabinet has decided whether a question will proceed to a referendum and what that question will be." Meeting tomorrow at 2. Buckle up.

Two reporters accessed the public database the same day the court ordered it be taken down and elections officials and RCMP announced investigations. One of the two reporters did not receive a cease-and-desist letter and last week informed Elections Alberta of the discrepancy.
This is obviously being overshadowed, but Elections Alberta confirmed today it actually thinks thousands of people accessed the leaked voter list, not just the 566 it sent cease-and-desist letters too last week. From me & @reportrix: thecanadianpressnews.ca/prai… via @CdnPressNews

Shortly before this story went to bed, a spokesman told me Sylvestre did not literally mean much of what he said. I sent his team almost 30 fact checking questions and in at least 11, the spokesman said Sylvestre was speaking rhetorically, not literally.
I went home recently to write about Alberta’s separatists. What I found was a movement dangerously, wildly disconnected from what is real.
