I joined DC residents last night as crews started removing Trump’s name from the Kennedy Center. And today, it is gone!! Trump is no king, and his Kennedy Center takeover has led to reduced businesses and artists pulling out. This is a great first step in restoring a historic, beloved local landmark. #FreeDC

Donald Trump is NO KING and I'm calling on all candidates and elected officials to stand together following his threat to take federal control of DC if @Janeese4DC becomes mayor. President Trump should mind his business and leave DC alone, he is neither an elected leader of this city nor a voter here. We have to fight back against this regime. We have to make sure that the District stays in the hands of its residents, and the only way to protect ourselves in the future is to become a state. Statehood helps us end our local National Guard occupation, restricts ICE’s ability to rip our families apart, and shields our laws and budget from outside interests. Statehood is something I’ll never stop fighting for until it’s reality!
