$1.9 billion. That’s how much the Great American Outdoors Act 250 would invest in stewarding our national parks, public land and Bureau of Indian Education facilities. We’ve got a lot of delayed maintenance needs in Oregon that have not been funded so I’m looking forward to moving this through @NRDems. Our future generations deserve to enjoy our public lands.

Thank you to Planned Parenthood Action Oregon for stopping by and sharing how Planned Parenthood supports our communities with access to birth control, STI testing and cancer screening. At a time when reproductive rights are under attack, I stand by Planned Parenthood and will continue to fight for healthcare access for all.

In 2026 the United States has seen 182 mass shootings. Behind gun violence statistics are people, families and communities.  This National Gun Violence Awareness Month, we honor victims, support survivors and continue to work together to pass common-sense gun safety legislation.

Every American deserves access to decent, affordable and safe housing. That’s why I’m reintroducing the DASH Act, with @RonWyden and @RepCarbajal, that will tackle homelessness and the affordability crisis by expanding housing choice vouchers, low- and middle-income housing tax credits and support for renters.

This week my colleagues and I passed @DonaldNorcross's Faster Labor Contracts Act, requiring employers to speed up contract negotiations once a union is created. When workers do well, our economy thrives and our businesses do better.

This year’s Social Security Trustees Report came out this week and the numbers don’t lie. The Administration is attacking the benefits workers have already earned to ensure they can retire in dignity instead of poverty. We shouldn't be asking more from firefighters, nurses, iron workers and teachers than we ask of billionaires like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos. We must make the wealthy pay their fair share and the Social Security Expansion Act would make that happen.

In 2026, women earn 81 cents on average for every dollar men earn despite today being the 63rd anniversary of the Equal Pay Act. I urge my colleagues to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act to close the pay gap and ensure equal pay for equal work. Let's get this done.

Instead of using this money for housing, for food or to help pregnant women and children eat, today’s reconciliation bill gave $70 billion more to ICE and CPB. We are not done fighting.

I want to make sure that reconciliation does not become a blank check for spending millions of taxpayer dollars while putting American lives on the line.

Thank you to the more than 10,000 Oregonians who joined our wildfire preparedness telephone town hall last night with Oregon State Fire Mariana Ruiz-Temple. With wildfire season fast approaching, we must take steps to be prepared. A great place to start is signing up for emergency notifications through OR-Alert to get timely information when it matters most. We'll continue sharing more resources. oralert.gov

Happy World Ocean Day! Today we recognize our duty to protect, conserve and maintain our oceans and natural resources. I will keep fighting to protect our district's beautiful 250 miles of coastline that supports marine life and the local economy.

The ochre sea stars are making a comeback. Thank you to those who are working along the coast to protect and study the way different species have been affected by sea star wasting disease. An interesting read!⬇️ washingtonpost.com/nation/20…

It was great to see the Eugene Emergency Physicians in Washington, D.C. this week and I'm glad they have reached a contract agreement with PeaceHealth. Oregon protects local control of healthcare by preventing unlicensed corporations from owning medical practices or directly employing physicians. Healthcare decisions should be driven by patients and providers—not corporate shareholders. We need more of that nationwide.

Today is World Environment Day—a day to celebrate the natural places we cherish and recommit ourselves to protecting them so future generations can inherit the healthy environment they deserve.

We're going to keep fighting to bring our troops home and to make sure that we're spending our taxpayer dollars here in the United States for the good of the American people.
