gm ❤️ this doesn't feel like a typical @mendezmendez piece. that's partly why i love it so much. inspired by a "speck of red" in a painting made by the artist's friend who passed years earlier, it's a reminder that art often arrives through other people at just the right time.

Submitted to The Memes: 6529 SVNDIAL. TLDR: A bronze sundial whose anamorphic gnomons cast impossible shadows: the 6 throws a 5, the 2 throws a 9. The dial only speaks its name twice a day. (If this interests you, or you just want to be kind to an internet friend, please share and/or vote) A bronze and stone sundial that tells one truth twice a day. Two anamorphic gnomons stand on the dial: a 6 whose shadow falls as a 5, and a 2 whose shadow falls as a 9. In daylight the stone always reads 6529, but only at 06:52:09 and 18:52:09 do the shadows seat perfectly in their carved recesses. At first light the dial says GM. At dusk it speaks its name. At night, sine sole sileo: without the sun, I am silent. The carvings are always there. The shadows make them true. The rim is engraved with the Memes contract address. The patina, pits and cracks are grown from the latest Ethereum block hash, so no two days weather alike. Tempus tenetur. Time, held. If you made it this far please be so kind to share this post and/or vote here: 6529.io/waves/b6128077-ea78-… Arweave link: arweave.net/DgiAnkobLN-UrBme…

Come build a city with us, onchain, window by window. Special thanks to my dear friend @n_zane_ for directing this for me, link to explore WINDOWS and express interest in thread!

totally blown away by the response to this piece. I'm gonna spend some time going through everyone's messages/replies tomorrow but I just want to say a huge thank you to all of you. Working on this with @XCOPYART has been an absolute dream and I'm so proud of what we made.

The way I pay tribute to artists is simple. I let them stay with me. Some artists leave a footprint that remains long after you have seen the work. Their ideas settle somewhere in your mind and quietly influence how you see the world, right? The Water Lily Pond by Claude Monet still exists in my head. So do the stacks of Donald Judd. So does Pepe by Matt Furie They were created decades apart. None of them were made for the same audience actually but they continue to occupy the same mental space I think digital art creates an interesting possibility. It allows ideas from different periods to Co-Exist in the same space Works separated by decades or even centuries can now influence one another, creating relationships that could never have existed within a single lifetime A Monet painting, a Judd sculpture, and a Furie character can meet with Rothko inside a single collection, or even a single thought of people That interests me more than nostalgia I am interested in what happens when ideas survive long enough to find each other, I wish I could live long enough to see all the new potentials of art too. Love. from Rothktown and I.

At nearly 500eth in the treasury some good splits can be made between 129. Just need a value for the animated citizens that would result in the necessary 69 / 59 split. For example all 128 could get the 3eth (ish) spent on taxes so far and then 69 could receive “profit” in art (animated citizens) and 59 could receive profit in an extra 1.6eth (ish). So you could have 3 eth plus animated citizen or just 4.6eth and an evader. Ignoring $ values.
