What an honor to work with a National Board of Directors who sees the importance of relationship building that is nationally relevant but locally focused and led @CISNational
@CISNational does such important work in so many of our nation’s HS- their impact drives up graduation rates, and increases student attendance for students who have a history of chronic absenteeism.
Relationships change lives.
So appreciate Ray Saldana’s leadership!
Big thanks to @julieswootton from @reviewJournal for spotlighting @CISNational. Julie and supporters connected with Freddie, a 5th grader at Lowman Elementary, thriving thanks to the support of his site coordinators Joshua Rivera and Raul Fention.

Today we honor the memory of Rosalynn Carter. It was First Lady Carter who saw the need for CIS, recognized our work, and propelled us forward to where we are today. We are eternally grateful for her advocacy for educational equity and countless humanitarian efforts worldwide.

“We’ve grown from about 2,500 schools that we were operating in in 2020 to 3,200 in the span of the last three years. And that’s a growth clip we just haven’t seen.”
Thank you to Rey Saldaña, President and CEO of Communities In Schools National, for joining us at the 2023 Impact Conference. We are grateful for his time with us at Communities In Schools of North Carolina! @CISNational
You don’t know how excite I was to meet @rey4sa at the Impact Conference. I gave @cisnc Dr Collin the assignment to connect me with him- he did it! I am very thankful of @CISChatham ED Tych for always supporting my desire to be the mirror of the community we serve! ✊🏽
We are a network of dedicated people working inside schools to connect students to opportunity. With back-to-school, Communities In Schools adds 260 new staff building relationships in 213 NEW schools serving 130,000 students. Big ❤️ and big investments to scale support.
Thanks to @HarvardHBS for invitation to present a @CISNational case study exploring our Alumni support. The force behinds this is @cisatlanta leader Frank Brown, who participated in program last year, and attracted attention of professors. 👀 Snuck in my @StanfordAlumni tie👔
Black, brown & indigenous student’s potential & value can be lost if we do not acknowledge the representation gaps that exist on some of our most competitive college campuses.
I count myself as one of them.
I don’t believe I would be leading @CISNational if I had not been…
accepted to a selective university that opened new doors of opportunity. We want this for all young people we serve, to get the chance to show the world we have what it takes to compete in the classroom, boardroom, or halls of power. Full statement: bit.ly/44dCZyF
The hard work it takes to do more hard is what we’re about at Communities In Schools. Nevada ❤️
“Hance-Lehr said her organization has a bold vision, with a goal of being in every Title I or high-needs school across Nevada.”

🗣 "I was a sophomore walking the halls here... I didn't know what CIS was. I knocked on the door and met Ms. Reyes, who is the reason for me – in many ways – getting to see a future that I hadn't ever even thought of for myself." – @rey4sa, @CISNationalyoutube.com/watch?v=5w92USTf…
Affirmative action was an acknowledgement of history & modern day gaps in access to higher ed for black, brown and indegenous students. It's been key to educational opportunity for young people forced to run a longer race on thier path to HS graduation. We remain #AllinForKids
