SpriteStack ALPHA is now available on Patreon.
For 3$ or more you get access to a dedicated Itch release that I update almost everyday.
This version features fully working renderer.
Animations and editor are to be enabled next.
#SpriteStack#voxelart#pixelart
Internal voxel editor for SpriteStack. Took me about a year to learn/make. All tools are GPU shaders (WebGL). It supports frame based animation and improved 2D mode for old spritestackers. Some unique features that I don't want to spoil yet.

Took me countless hours. #blender3D still does that a bit better but I call it a day. Approximating skeleton from #glTF
You have to know that glTF is a PNG of 3D files not a PSD. Wish I understood that earlier and invested in FBX or something else.
Progress on integrating GLTF with #SpriteStack bone system.
I am not sure how to calculate bone lengths out of GLTF joints so I've made them appear as spiked balls.
Workflow is quite different from other software but then - I am not making the other software.

Getting out of my food comfort zone. Ordered some fried crickets. Well. It smells like fish food and it tastes like fish food. Objectively as a snack it's not even half as tasty as potato chips. I believe insects made on spot as a street food are much better.
I did that based on many articles praising insects nutritional value. I still believe it might have its place in Europe and is an overlooked source of food that might help cut mammals consumption. If you grind it to a flour grade you can shape burgers or whatever out of it.
I have ended up with a very basic bone system but at least I gave them very nice colors.
In other words:
I have failed to implement anything sophisticated because I spent all the time picking colors.

I am addicted to DOTA - which is bad - but also it made me realize that I don't care about a lot of features that we are told a game must have (and my future games will not have them):
Achievements
Highscores
Permanent stats
Alt avatars
Seasonal events

Now if you want to get radical I think that:
Children should be banned from playing clicker games (games where all the challenge is to collect resources).
Adults and children should be educated in terms of all psychological tricks the game industry is using to hook them.
Game industry should put more pressure on admitting that most gamedesign books are about directing player most primitive needs to make them addicted and stop pretending it's harmless entertainment.
