State employees have been told by Gov Gretchen Whitmer’s admin to show up for work tomorrow because there will be a budget deal or a short-term extension of the current budget, UAW Local 6000 president tells MI Public Radio. Local 6000 is one of the largest state employee unions.

Lansing rn: Basically it's like 'hey we can have a partial government shutdown' OR 'we can pass a budget before 12:01a.' And, instead, someone else IN POWER was like: BUT WHAT IF THERE IS A THIRD WAY WE'VE NEVER TRIED BEFORE.

@rickpluta and I have been talking about this since Tate announced he's not running for Mayor. How much *actual* money are Ds willing to spend on an already safe-D seat in a year when there's OPEN Gov, Senate, AG, SOS races PLUS toss up/swing U.S. House seats entire state House and Senate.

The House passes a minimum wage compromise bill.
It would:
Speed up the timeline for workers making $15/hr
Cap the min wage for tipped workers at 50% what others make
Now it goes to the governor

MI Secretary of State @JocelynBenson Benson says she is running for governor. She is the 1st Democrat to announce she is seeking the nomination to appear on the '26 ballot. Benson is running to replace @GovWhitmer Gretchen Whitmer, who cannot run again because of term limits.
