Back to work, taking calls & reachable again. Though mentally in airplane mode. People say the phone changed the world. Before phones, if someone didn’t speak to you for 6 months, you assumed they were either at war, on a ship or dead. There was dignity in silence. Then, Alexander Graham Bell looked at human beings & thought these people should be able to contact each other immediately. NOW, we stare at chat boxes & typing bubbles like lovers once waited for handwritten letters from soldiers. Except the soldier is online & watching Instagram stories. Today, love begins with a notification sound & friendships survive through memes. Before phones, missing someone was poetic. Now it’s suspicious. And through all this chaos, the ghosting, spam calls & screenshots, one man remains strangely under blamed. Alexander Graham Bell. Because somewhere in history, he invented the first telephone & accidentally created attachment issues for the entire planet. Definitely for me.
