Thank you to @Chris_EvansMP for raising the scourge of violence and abuse faced by public transport workers in his Westminster Hall debate, and RMT’s call for stronger legal protections for public transport workers against assault at work.
Importantly, Chris highlighted the disparity that will arise now that the Scottish Govt has committed to introducing a standalone offence, this will mean that public transport workers in Scotland will have stronger legal protections than those in England and Wales. We agree with Chris that this is unacceptable and call on the UK Govt to extend these protections so all public transport workers are protected.

All privatisation has done is extract profit out of the railway system and out of our country.
With GB Rail we can be patriotic and keep our money in the railways so that we can invest in better services for passengers and get more freight on the rail and off the roads.
What a night at Maritime House! 🇬🇧🤝🇨🇺 The 19th RMT Garden Party this week was a massive success. It was an honor to hear from @RMTunion General Secretary Eddie Dempsey and many other friends. Proud to stand together to demand an end to the blockade. 🇨🇺❤️
