This is just a friendly #siop23 reminder - if you install the Whova app, the times given there will be in your local time zone, not the conference's time zone!
I recommend either using solely the Whova calendar or solely something else for scheduling - don't mix and match!

If you ask ChatGPT to speak in Scots, you will get to see the resulting predictions from this teen's efforts in their full glory.

It turns out an American teen who identifies as an "INTP brony" has singlehandedly written almost the entirety of Scots wikipedia despite not knowing the language at all. Scottish redditors suspect he may have done "more damage to the Scots language than anyone else in history."

Although it's impressive technology, let's remember that passing standardized tests is for entry to advanced education, not proof of learning at the end. This is not "reasoning." There is no critical evaluation. It is pattern recognition.
I don't give a damn about what is or isn't AGI. It doesn't matter.
Below is GPT-4's performance on many standardized exams: BAR, LSAT, GRE, AP, etc.
The truth is, GPT-4 can apply to Stanford as a student now. AI's reasoning ability is OFF THE CHARTS. Exponential growth is the scariest thing, isn't it!

My sustainability class just finished a module about disinformation. I had them write me a letter assuming they were flunking and arguing that they deserve an A, using the techniques of disinformation we discussed, like cherry picking, false experts and ad hominem. HOO-boy. 1/n
