Hearing "go woke, go broke" about Doctor Who's troubles is funny when the wokest (and best) series of the past decade was nine years ago when the Doctor was punching racists and critiquing capitalism with a black lesbian companion whose greatest enemy was conversion therapy

it continuously stuns me how rightwingers don't know how anything works at all on a systematic level so they assume nothing should be done about anything ever
My PhD graduation took place a month after the last episode of Who for the foreseeable future, meaning that I said goodbye to the Doctor just as I took on the title of Doctor myself … which isn't what I wanted for the show, ofc, but sorta goes crazy for my character arc 💀
The "16th Doctor"/PiperGate is going both remain an enigma and an incredibly unfortunate burden on the next showrunner to either sort out or ignore. Most likely ignore for the show's health but then do you start with a new "16th" or jump to "17th"? If so, WHAT happened there?
Been thinking this a lot. I know it's very minor compared to the overall state of the show, but I really hope we can fold the last two seasons neatly into the Davies–Moffat–Chibnall era and give the new slate of whatever comes next an actual Series 1
