Is this the solution to all our CAPEWEED problems? Broadstrike PRE for 100% CW control! If interested for more come to UWA to see herbicide action vs crop & pasture weeds. [Yellow Serradella seeds collected with the CW]

Very good turnout this morning inspecting the results of recent resistance testing work in ryegrass, wild radish and wild oats. Send me a text if in Perth and want to inspect the pots - discuss results.

This is what I have observed on paraquat-resistant ARG (18DAT). Hasten with Gramx and AMS with glufosinate. It's just a start, not yet an (scientific) answer but worthwhile a bit more work.

AMS showing its benefits to assist glyphosate in controlling self sown cereals and other grasses. Here it’s been tank mixed with triazines, with and without AMS and control is chalk and cheese. AMS assisting with Antagonism with group 5 pre ems @CropDoctor54 @robbert115

Wild radish appears better controlled by either glufosinate or glyphosate applied as stand-alone. Mild antagonism observed with the tank mix.

Sorry to spoon the party: Picolinafen 50g (product) 180 metribuzin. Spectacular control of wild radish and the only 2026 treatment with no resistance ✅✅✅ (20 options trialled).
Most effective treatment for wild radish in 2026 resistance testing screening. What is it? Let us know, have a guess below in the poll… For pots inspection send me a DM. In two weeks all radish, ryegrass, oats is ready to be seen (all together 50 herbicides tested)

Pasture 365 trial at Rylington park (Boyup Brook, WA) comparing simple and complex mixes of pasture species (crops, clovers, lucerne, ryegrass, herbs mixed in 10 treatments). Small plots, 4 reps. Focus on production, composition, feed quality and soil health (collab. with UWA).

We recently tested these WA ryegrass seedlings suspected of glyphosate resistance (photo of the paddock and transplanted ARG). We tested full rates of: - glyphosate - clethodim - glyph clethodim - glyph glufosinate

Statistical analysis update P365 project: Kg DM/ha for 8 pasture mixes grown at focal site in Manjimup (2024 & 2025) ANOVA letters on the 2024 2025 DM totals. Highlights: -Highest production from annual mixes in 2024 - In 2025 perennial, diverse mixes outperform annuals
Today it was a great Pasture 365 field day at Manji! Thanks to all those attending, DPIRD Manji crew and Jeisane for organizing it all!

Lucerne herb systems consistently high-performing Mix 50 (lucerne chicory plantain grasses - photo Jan '26): High production in both years Best cumulative yield Seeding rate was not a driver of productivity High-rate mixes (e.g. 70 kg/ha) did not outperform lower-rate mixes

-Annual systems (photo Jan '26) strong early production -Perennial, diverse systems deliver the highest total productivity over time. -Lucerne-based multi-species mixes were the most robust and productive across seasons. -Resowing annuals did not overcome the performance gap
