How is this done!!!?

“Hello Dr.,
Thank you for the work you’re doing pressing the necks of those Airtel thieves!
I was with my brother in the field upcountry when someone attempted to send him money via Airtel. They were told that his number was not registered, despite having successfully sent him money on that same number before. The sender then tried to call his Airtel line, but it was switched off. They called him on his MTN line instead, and upon checking, my brother discovered that his Airtel SIM card had been blocked.
This Airtel number was linked to his bank account via mobile wallet. When he accessed his account through internet banking, he found that all his money (7.7 million shillings) had been withdrawn. In addition, a 2 million shilling loan had been taken from his bank account using the same SIM card, plus an additional 900,000/= loan from his Airtel money. They even had the audacity recently to ask him to repay this loan!
Anyway, He immediately took a bus to Kampala and reported the matter to Police. At Airtel, he learned that his SIM card had been duplicated and the duplicate had been used to block his original card. Airtel referred him to the bank, but the bank (DFCU) told him they thought he was the one transacting since the transactions originated from his registered number. Airtel has been investigating the case since November 2024.
Airtel olemwa!”
