Why the leaf charm? Good question! At first glance, it looks like just a leaf. But it’s not a random form. It’s an olive leaf. And for Palestinians, the olive tree is not a metaphor. It’s evidence. For thousands of years, olive trees have grown on Palestinian land. Some of them are more than 4,000 years old, passed down from one generation to the next. These trees are inherited like family names. They mark presence, history, and continuity. In many villages, olive orchards are the clearest proof that a family has lived on that land for generations. That’s why Palestinians often call the olive tree a living title deed. The olive tree is also livelihood. Around 80,000 to 100,000 Palestinian families depend on olives for income. Nearly half of the cultivated land in the West Bank and Gaza is olive groves. But more than that, the olive tree represents sumud (steadfastness). Planting, caring for, and harvesting olive trees has long been an act of quiet resistance. Because land that is cultivated is harder to confiscate. Because staying rooted is a form of survival. Since 1967, over one million olive trees have been uprooted or destroyed. Not by accident. But because removing trees also means erasing history, identity, and the right to remain. That’s why the olive leaf matters. As memory. As resistance. As proof that people were there, and still are.

"What are the pictures on the back of the tee?" It feels a bit dishonest to answer this question with a simple, literal description of the images. The four visuals on the back of the Rock Tee were never meant to explain something directly. They were designed as metaphors. Each image holds a fragment of a process, as explained in the pictures below. But what’s interesting is what happened later. When @eaJPark wore the tee, and when the JARS embraced it, the design didn’t change its meaning. It simply found its people. Jae’s journey has never moved in a straight line. It bends. It pauses. It circles back. Sometimes it disappears into silence, only to return carrying more weight than before. And the JARS have always been there through those movements. Not only at the peaks, but in the in-betweens. Through the spirals. The distance. The waiting. The returns. That’s why this connection feels natural.
