If you can't control it, ban it. A perfect combination of corporate overhype and government incompetence.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

why is nobody inventing a microwave that silently waits for you instead of screaming at 2 AM like it just discovered fire?

Let me just remind you that this same guy considered his own AI to be very dangerous

When you ask AI to debug a function, but it refuses because your variable name sounds too emotionally aggressive

I am convinced that git merge conflicts are not a technical issue. It is just the code actively fighting back because it does not want to go to production on a Friday.

One of the hardest shifts in a tech career is moving from "I need to know everything" to "I am comfortable not knowing everything". The tech landscape moves too fast to keep up with every single update, framework, or trend. It is completely fine to focus on core fundamentals and just look up the rest when you actually need it. Protecting your mental peace is a skill too.

Best digital hygiene tip: The exact moment a tech company announces a new AI model, immediately add its name to your muted words list. The benefits: - Your mental health will improve instantly - Your timeline will remain perfectly clean - You won't have to read fifty identical threads about how this changes everything The only catch: You will completely fall behind every single tech trend and speedrun your own career irrelevance. Choose peace.

Years of experience mean almost nothing now. I've met people with 10 years on their resume who just repeated their first year ten times, and people with 2 years who can completely redesign a broken architecture in a weekend.

Developers: Can we please get that hyper-powerful Mythos model now? Anthropic: We have Mythos at home. Mythos at home:
Claude Fable 5 is unusable at this time. How the hell is this prompt a cybersecurity or biology risk?! Almost every prompt I've tried gives me the same error! What’s going on Anthropic?

Wake me up when these benchmarks actually translate into stable production software instead of just expensive marketing drama 🥱
Claude 5 Fable Benchmarks! Holy moly, significant jump even to Mythos

So it went from "too powerful and dangerous for humanity" to "we added enough guardrails to turn it into a standard, slow chatbot with slightly different benchmarks" The hype bubble is officially leaking 🫧
Introducing Claude Fable 5: a Mythos-class model that we’ve made safe for general use. Its capabilities exceed those of any model we’ve ever made generally available.

It will be the exact same story: a slightly higher benchmark score, massive token latency, astronomical compute costs, and the same old hallucinations when you ask it to build something complex Save this tweet

Prediction: No empires will fall, and no software engineering jobs will disappear. We are just getting another over-hyped LLM

Git is missing the most important command: git regret --no-evidence It should just completely wipe out the last few hours of terrible decisions, delete all traces of your broken code, and let you start over like nothing ever happened.
