What the current insecurity tells is that, the actual people in charge of Nigeria are bandits and armed groups. Those in government are controlling only the treasury.

Under Keyamo jet flying pastors were granted blank permit to land on anywhere or their own air strips, regardless of the danger. Now a pastor’s jet landed on a road. It is just the beginning.

Even Abuja and Lagos don’t have functional ambulance service accessible to all. In some states, donkeys are still used as ambulance. But all of a sudden new buses are being shared everyday for campaigns, just to grab power and steal more — and make our lives more difficult.

The only portion of Nigerians that trust INEC @inecnigeria as it is now are APC leaders and their retinue. That they have access to private data of voters is not a lone misconduct of a staff that is about to be used as the fall guy.

The problem of Abuja—Kaduna express is not that of order, it is that of failure of current and previous government to complete the road that had been a death trap for over a decade. Even 1000 road safety men cannot make a bad road better:
FRSC DEPLOYS 30, 000 PERSONNEL FOR EID EL-KABIR The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, says it has deployed 30, 000 personnel nationwide ahead of the 2026 Eid El-Kabir special patrol. In a statement signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the special operations which started from 25th will end on 31st May, 2026. The special patrol will place particular focus on excessive speed, dangerous driving, wrongful overtaking, overloading, lane indiscipline, use of phones while driving, operation of mechanically deficient vehicles, driving with expired or worn-out tyres, passenger manifest violations, and other critical offences responsible for fatal road crashes across the country.

Abuja-Kaduna express has been a death trap for over two decades. Buhari could not fix it in 8–years. The current government is slow and indifferent. It is still a death trap. A day like this — gridlock — every now and then shows government does not exist to make our lives easier.

If you still think sanctity of lives of the people matter in Nigeria, remember that on Sunday military air strike on a local market killed over 100 people in Zamfara, majority of them women and girls doing petty trading. Silence buried the dead: nytimes.com/2026/05/12/world…

No group of people hate Nigerians more than APC governors cartel. People are struggling to survive but they diverted 800 billion to finance the campaign for an election that will give them more opportunities to destroy Nigeria.

The panel session on "Assessing the Impact of Critical Investigative Journalism in Human Rights Protection and Nation Building", moderated by Busola Ajibola, Deputy Director of the Journalism Programme at CJID, brought together voices from journalism, civil society, and a human rights organisation. Discussions explored the state of press freedom in West Africa, with particular attention to rising cases of SLAPPs, and the broader implications for media independence and democratic governance. Speakers also interrogated the effectiveness of administrative processes for human rights protection, asking what functional protection frameworks should look like in practice. The conversation further reflected on gaps in the enforcement of national transparency frameworks, and what genuine openness and accountability should entail. #WorldPressFreedomDay #PressFreedom @AmnestyNigeria @roomfa_

Airports are solutions to big man’s problems. That governors of the poorest states are keenly spending billions on airports says a lot of the fact that: roads will continue to be death trap. You either afford to fly or you die on deplorable roads.

Absurdly inappropriate commentary from @awzurcher @BBCNews How can a threat of civilisational erasure and genocide be whitewashed as a "treacherous choice". Why is that when it's Muslims threatened with slaughter the BBC is reluctant to use appropriately extreme language?

Despite few amendments to the previous drafts, any death sentences imposed under this law would constitute a violation of the right to life and, when imposed against Palestinians from the OPT, may also amount to war crimes. The international community must exert maximum pressure on the Israeli authorities to immediately repeal this law, fully abolish the death penalty, and dismantle all laws and practices that contribute to the system of apartheid against Palestinians.
