Preserving the memory of Auschwitz, is key to preserving the memory of the Holocaust, which is critical to ensure it never happens again. At Google, we believe technology can play an important role in education and remembrance, and we're very proud to support the Foundation.
.@Google, a technological partner of the Auschwitz Museum and the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, has been recognized as one of the benefactors supporting the educational mission of the Memorial. Read more: auschwitz.org/en/museum/news…

Crazy, that only 1.5% of funding goes to all-female teams in Germany vs 92% to all-male teams and only 6.5% to mixed leadership teams. It seems we've made zero progress in this regard over the last ten years, despite many efforts and data. 🤯😔 sifted.eu/articles/funding-f…

Making the experience and history of Auschwitz accessible to everyone, everywhere, is key to preserving the memory of the Holocaust. @Googleorg is proud to support Auschwitz in Front of Your Eyes, helping to ensure the stories are heard by future generations, and never forgotten.
Google will support the development of the "Auschwitz in Front of Your Eyes" project, enabling people from around the world to visit the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau with a live guide in an online format. Through $1M in funding and support from Google.org, Google’s philanthropic arm, the Memorial will expand education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust to reach people everywhere, including making it accessible to people with disabilities, those in remote areas and unable to travel there. Read more about @Google support: auschwitz.org/en/museum/news… Google's support will help evolve the technological platform and its accessibility, including introducing live captioning, AI-based translation into multiple languages, and the digitization of Survivors' testimonies, which will be used during the tours. It will also include extensive training for guides and expanding the reach of this unique form of visits to multiple communities worldwide, including partnering with schools to increase access for students. This builds on the long-standing partnership with Google, when the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum worked with Google Arts & Culture to bring important stories of Auschwitz online along with over 700 artifacts from its archive. The “Auschwitz in Front of Your Eyes” project was developed over three years as a cooperation between the Museum, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, and companies such as AppsFlyer, DISKIN, and Orange. In January of this year, visitors began to use the platform. On 13 May in Warsaw, a discussion took place with the participation of Rowan Barnett, Director of Google.org for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Dr. Piotr M. A. Cywiński, Director of the Auschwitz Museum, and Wojciech Soczewica, Director General of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation. A special guest at the event was Auschwitz Survivor Bogdan Bartnikowski. Geht bitte weiter demonstrieren. Danke #München.

Thinking of my great great grandmothers Adele Weidenfeld and Laura Eisenstein and the millions of others murdered during the Holocaust. Let us remember the atrocities and lessons of the past, and not be blind or indifferent to the warning signs of today. #WeRemember #NeverAgain

79 years ago today over 7,000 prisoners of the German Nazi camp #Auschwitz, including some 700 children, were liberated by the soldiers of the Soviet Army. 1,689 days of murder, pain, suffering, and humiliation were over. Today we all remember. We must keep remembering.

So heartening to join hundreds of thousands across Germany this weekend out on the streets in solidarity and protest against the far-right, against extremism, and standing up for our open, inclusive and democratic society. Lots of work to do, but there is hope. 🖤❤️💛

Similar to the climate crisis, it's deeply alarming to see tipping points on the immediate horizon for our democracies and free societies in Europe and beyond. Here is a clear-eyed analysis and warning by @johnkampfner: foreignpolicy.com/2023/12/26…

AI can be critical in our collective effort to tackle climate change, and could mitigate 5 to 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 – the equivalent of the total annual emissions of the European Union. Here's how: fortune.com/2023/12/18/ai-hu…
