finished the boys season 1 and 2. shows kinda good but also sucks. feels like everyone who made it is 15, it's constantly doing the cheap shitty "anything on your screen could explode at ANY MOMENT RIGHT NOW MOTHERFUCKER" way of building tension and it gets old fast
what really annoys me about the videogames playthrough larp discourse is how "Fan" has become this crystallized, sanctified identity. if you ever find yourself worried over the Validity of your Fan-ness then i think you just need a total soul reboot. go do shrooms in the woods
yes, obviously playing a videogame for real is different from watching a video. people who not only can't accept this but also angrily clamor for Respect and Inclusion through it are beyond lost. just a completely broken frame for thinking and talking about media. meatpig mindset
replayed pikuniku. very charming. feels like it could be someone's first ever videogame and they wouldn't complain. to me it's proof that you can have an extremely simple vision but if you stick to it and execute on it above all else, it'll work out

just playing through it all to keep hanging out in the world as a little red guy, to feel good Finding A Thing and to read lines of text that make you smile. it's just cute! it's like spending an afternoon in the park with your buddies and then you go home and say "that was fun"
it's normally not my type of game at all, i like stuff with crazy layers, your noitas and your deltarunes. but this one is just so sweet and streamlined that i can't not like it. it's pikuniku man it's lit
this whole "every new movie has a themed popcorn bucket" thing has probably been really good for the chintzy plastic garbage industry, who i think needed a win
i just feel like in 2 years after the fad dies we're gonna hear about some consulting firm getting bought out by private equity archdemon #3 and learn it was all some centrally coordinated plant thing
