Dropped in to Porsche in Silverstone to test drive a Taycan. Spent a reasonable time in a Taycan 4S. It was very planted, a very different drive to the Model3 as you must use the breaks. They have a real presence on the road and feel lower and wider. I noticed 3 things.
1. The steering wheel is better setup for sport driving and feels very different to the touch, it’s sporty. 2. It was very stable in the suspension, you could feel it had potential if really thrown into corners. 3. Low speed was very easy, it was very settled, then at higher speeds the one thing I missed was that emotional “wow” I get in the model3 it never gets old, in the Porsche it was just missing.
If you want a sports car for the road, you may use on the track the Taycan felt like the right choice. If you need a daily drive which you can also stretch when you want to the model3 may be a better choice. Not sure I can warrant 2x the price for a Porsche, but it is more likely like buying a work of art rather than a functional tool.
