JDK 27 JEPS✨
JEP 523 makes G1 GC the default garbage collector in all environments. Before, Serial GC was used automatically at 1 CPU or <1792 MB memory. Now G1 is strong enough to compete at all heap sizes, while still offering better latency.

Thanks to Java Champion @RafaDelNero for the invite. Don’t measure your growth as a developer only by how much code you write. Real seniority comes from understanding trade-offs, communicating clearly, and solving the right problem.

Many don't touch PreparedStatement directly anymore.
But JDBC drivers still do.
With statement caching, the driver may reuse work from repeated SQL instead of preparing everything from scratch.
Not magic. Just less repeated setup.

Very well said, I was recently talking about the very sam feeling with #JavaChampion and #Meterion lead @bbossola. The relevance of the IDE is decreasing rapidly, maybe won't be obsolete but surelly less used.
The IDE is dead. It’s no longer the factory where we write code line-by-line, but a navigation panel to audit autonomous agents. As @addyosmani ("Death of the IDE") and @AkitaOnRails ("VS Code is the new punch card") said: we’re shifting from syntax to intent and orchestration.
A side-by-side comparison of the main OpenJDK distributions in 2026, from Temurin to Liberica, Zulu, Corretto, Semeru, and others. Support, updates, lifecycle, vendor alignment, and what those differences mean when you are picking a runtime for enterprise workloads. By @cat_edelveis: youtu.be/Ytdo8OGEYFI
How do you know your work matters? When people complain. Seriously.
Our team at @OmniFishEE is fighting through CI issues and Maven Central outages to release GlassFish 8.0.2. The last thing we want is complaints, but honestly? It's the best thing that can happen. 🧵👇
Join us on May 14th for a live session with #Java Champion @vlad_mihalcea, who delves into the most efficient strategies for retrieving complex data structures—specifically for scenarios where you need to store the result set in a cache like Redis.

Still invisible?
Still not in the important conversations
Still not growing like you expected
At some point, it stops being about code.
There’s another path most developers ignore.
