Daily double. Add in this morning’s miles and that’s 12.5 on the day. Just gotta keep putting the work in!

Really nice running weather for this morning’s workout of 5X6 min with 90 sec jogs, but unfortunately I couldn’t take advantage of it. Tired in general and legs just weren’t there, so just did my best to grind it out.

Came up all sevens this morning. Should I go grab a lottery ticket? Threw in 6X20/60 strides starting at 40 min. One of those said 4:55 pace, but not too sure I believe that. They do seem to be getting faster though. Let’s have a great week, all!

Week 2 of Project 80oDT in the books with the most miles I’ve run since June’23. I’m pretty happy in this range and plan to hold here for a while. Rinse and repeat! As Ed Eyestone says, consistent competency leads to eventual excellence!

Easy recovery miles to end the week and that was exactly what I needed. Happy Sunday, everyone!

Solid run this morning and got to check out part of a new rail trail. 95 min total, throwing in 3X5 min at LT1 with 90 sec jogs in the last half hour just to break it up a bit. It was hot, but thankfully not as bad as the past couple days.

Another hot one this morning after another late night (for me) watching the Canes win. Felt surprisingly good, but the heat was working on me in the 2nd half and my HR was not gonna stay down.

Daily double with an “easy” 4 miles. Pretty sure that one doubled as both a run and sauna session. 96° and humid, but I actually embraced it because I know it’s making me better!

Whew! That was brutal. 10X90/60 and the temp when I finished was 81° with a dew point of 68. Tried to adjust the effort for the conditions, but just not acclimated enough yet so I still overheated. 🥵

Stanley Cup Playoffs and my Cardiac Canes are keeping me up past my bedtime, but what a series so far! Glad today was an easy day on the running front.

Back this evening with the daily double. Oddly I felt better than this morning. 🤷‍♂️ Nearly 12.5 on the day, so I’ll take it!

Not the best night of sleep last night and this morning’s workout was a struggle. 5X6 min at threshold with 90 sec jogs. Adjusted the effort for what my body was willing to give me and got it done, but even some cloud cover and new shoes couldn’t help this day.

Duck Season…Rabbit Season…East Coast Altitude Training Season. Dew point was mid-60’s this morning and it was warm and humid. Guess it’s that time of year, but not looking forward to the sweat-soaked, squishy shoes. 🥵

Mostly easy miles to kick off the week with 6X20/60 strides thrown in to wake up the legs a bit. Let’s make this week a good one!

Almost 60 miles this week and I’m pretty happy with the way the last 5 have gone. This was week one of what I’m calling “Project 80 or Die Trying,” where the goal is to run times in the 5k/10k that will age grade to 80%, which is the “National Class” standard.

Easy 50 min to close out the week. Could’ve done a few min more and hit 60 miles for the week, but that wasn’t the point. Discipline, however, is, especially as a Masters runner!

Lengthened the Sat run out a bit this week to get to 90 min for the first time in a while. Once I hit an hour, threw in 3X5 min at LT1 with 90 sec jogs to break it up a bit.

Easy recovery miles this morning. Felt good, but the mornings are starting to heat up faster and faster.

Easy 35 for the daily double. Starting to heat up out and we’re looking at almost 90° the next couple days. Almost ECAT season: East Coast Altitude Training.

This morning’s “fun” was 10X90 sec with 60 sec jogs. Got faster throughout and finished under 6 min pace. No idea where the second half of that workout came from because I felt pretty wiped out from the start.
