If you thought that Web Development required WebPack, Node.js, complex build chains and third-party Component frameworks such as React, you've not noticed what modern browsers now make possible! eg Golgi: github.com/robtweed/golgi #webpack #javascript #webdevelopment #NodeJS

MUMPS was first professional programming language I ever worked with and the one that helped me make my first million. Good review from @asianometry. youtu.be/7g1K-tLEATw?si=zoze…

A solar milestone this morning: after 19 months, 10 MWh generated. Enough to power nearly 4 average U.K. homes for a year.

#martinlewis Readily available and cost-effective technologies already exist to allow anyone, not just "sophisticated consumers", to benefit from TOU tariffs and move the energy market away from its current crude state.

This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a bunch of out of control billionaires

@happygeek A heads up that the Eufy Security web site (and from what I can tell their entire back-end operation) has been down since the early hours today. It’s brought many/most home security systems to a stop. No news about it anywhere from what I can tell

Ministers to relax rules about building small modular reactors (SMRs) thetimes.com/uk/politics/art… - is this just hot air? You can give more room for fairies to dance, but that doesn’t make them real. Here I explain how SMRs don’t exist as a concept davidtoke.substack.com/p/why…

I’m thinking of Open Sourcing the automated system I’ve written and use for optimising use of the @OctopusEnergy Agile Tariff. It’s specifically written for @Solis_Inverters. I’ll need to build out a proper web-based management/monitoring sub-system so it will take a while

I run the system on a server in the cloud, but it can be run on any available computer. It will be ideal for running on a @Raspberry_Pi.

I make do with command-line access, but most potential users will want and need something easier. So quite a bit of work but I’d like others to be able to benefit as we’ve done, and to demonstrate what’s possible these days to significantly reduce electricity bills

My iPhone updated to iOS 18 overnight. Spent several hours fixing gmail (still not entirely sorted), and now disabled the ghastly dark icons that show up by default when it gets dark. Why do Apple continually have to fix things that weren’t broken in the first place? 🤷🏻‍♂️😖

"France would never do this" As a matter of fact, France did something analogous to this with the relocation outside Paris of the renowned market of Les Halles, in the years 60s and 70s of last century.

@OctopusEnergy Tomorrow’s Agile rates seem to be taking a long time to become available: 4:30pm and still not coming up in the app?

Well I guess we’ll all have to wait and see what the consequences are for what’s happened in the US. Musk has got what he wanted: careful what you wish for might be his epitaph. We’ll see: what do I or anyone else know?
