Name a Ruby conf talk that deserves more views. Go.
The hidden gems (pun intended) that quietly changed how you think about a problem.
Talk. Year. A sentence. That's it.
Need a starting point? rubyevents.org has an incredible archive of talks across events and years.
AI tools have made finding security issues cheap. Verifying them still takes people. Thanks to Alpha-Omega, Ruby Central is helping close that gap.

Shoutout to every self-taught Rubyist who figured it out alone — no degree, no bootcamp, no mentor handing them answers.
Just broken code, midnight error messages, and the day pry finally made everything click.
The gem install is the same for everyone. You belong here.
A long awaited update has released on what the Ruby Central board has been tirelessly working on.

1,500 gem requests per second. Billions of downloads a month. RubyGems.org keeps running because supporters like @84codes make it possible.
They don't do it for the spotlight. They do it because they care about the ecosystem.
Thank you. 🙏

Brandon Weaver, @rubycentralorg board member, discusses how software leaders need to help steer the future of AI, especially when it feels uncomfortable. If the people who care about jobs, sustainability, and humane technology step back, the direction will be set by whoever wants control the most.
That means our future is controlled by corporations making money, not the builders or the users.

Let's talk about Ruby magnificence.
Name one Ruby feature that made you feel like you had superpowers the first time you used it.
I will start: symbols as hash keys. Life-changing.
TIL: Booking in a conference room block helps keep ticket prices lower.
Room block bookings offset costs like meeting space, Wi-Fi, and catering. If attendees book elsewhere, organizers may pay penalties.
Third-party sites don’t count.

The spam attack on rubygems.org is contained. 500 malicious packages have been yanked & bot accounts blocked. Registrations will remain closed 2–3 days while we implement WAF protection and tighter rate limiting. Gem installs & pushes are unaffected.
