Massive 24m negative split from Kathy for a 10:59:14. Last split from top of Pollies to finish was by far the fastest of her day & her last kilometre was 30 seconds faster than any other. I am starting to wonder if this was all just a hustle to get into my statsā¦

By special request (for good reason) from Johan van Dyk, Iāve pulled tables of the youngest 2026 qualified entrants by medal earned and the most medals by age.
Johan, who runs for RAC and is a professor of chemistry, is the 53-year-old with the

Both van Dykās are below par as are Vic Boston (47 finishes), Werner Kriel (35) and Hennis Espach (31). Those on par with 10 or more finishes are Wietsche van der Westhuizen (46 finishes), Stefan Ulland (27), Martin Vilakazi (17) and Johnny Jansen van Rensburg (12).

Interestingly there a few young years that are āwell over parā like 35 ( 4) and 28, 30, 33 and 50 (all 3) as well as some āold yearsā for number of medals earned like the youngest with 6 medals being 32, 7 medals 34 and for 10 medals is almost 37.
