exactly why the “Ray Allen saved his career” narrative never made sense. LeBron scored 16 points in the 4th of that Game 6, then hit a 3 to put the Heat within reach for Ray Allen to even tie the game. comes back in Game 7 & absolutely wills his team to a victory in all facets. Chris Bosh & Ray Allen scored 0 points each. absolute no shows. Ray Allen didn’t even play during the 4th of Game 7. LeBron had the team high for 4th quarter scoring AGAIN, & hit a tough middy to put the Heat up 4 near the end after Chalmers choked at the line prior to missing BOTH free throws💀 this ring was solely on LeBron’s shoulders & he delivered.

the amount of “killer instinct” moments LeBron has that get completely written off &/or forgotten is ridiculous. first year back in Cleveland, facing a potential 3-1 deficit in round 2, no Kyrie, no Kevin Love. media would’ve destroyed Bron for losing regardless. Blatt tries to go against the grain, Bron scratches the play, draws one up for himself & games the Bulls.

Brendan Haywood says LeBron erased David Blatt’s play that ended up becoming the infamous game-winner he hit against the Bulls.
“It was the way he ran practice. He was kind of scared to coach LeBron. Remember the shot that LeBron hit in Chicago? David Blatt drew the play up for JR Smith. He had the upmost confidence in JR, but we all thought the play was going to LeBron. He was like ‘okay, yeah, JR’ and Bron grabbed the clipboard and said ‘absolutely not’ and erased the coach’s play and called his own play… and that’s the iconic shot he hit over Jimmy Butler. You’re not supposed to draw up a play for anybody except LeBron James in that situation.”
