I once built a sales team the "cheap" way. 8 reps. All hungry. All inexperienced. I told myself I'd train them up. I told myself attitude beats experience. I told myself I was being smart with capital. I was wrong on all three. 6 months later: → 5 of the 8 were gone → Pipeline was a mess → I'd spent more on recruiting and retraining than I saved on salary So I rebuilt the team. This time I hired 4 reps with 3–5 years of experience. Paid each one 20–30% more than the first group. What happened: Month 1 they were already producing. Month 3 they were training each other. Month 6 revenue was up 40%. The math everyone misses on cheap hires: Salary savings: real. Ramp time cost: real. Missed revenue during ramp: very real. Rehiring cost when it doesn't work: very real. A players don't cost more. They cost less — when you do the full math. Stop optimizing for salary. Start optimizing for output.

Most founders outsource hiring to HR and wonder why growth stalls. Hiring is a founder problem. It's a strategy problem. It's a culture problem. The best founders I know treat every hire like a business decision—not an admin task. Until you own hiring, you don't own growth.

Why starting your own side hustle is more secure than chasing that next promotion. Sure, entrepreneurship has risks too—no one's saying it's easy. But you control them: start small, learn quick, cut losses early. Compare that to a job where "restructuring" can blindside you tomorrow. Right now feels like prime time to start a small business. Tools are cheap, online reach is massive, and solving real problems (affordability hacks, side gigs, local services) pays off even when the big economy's wobbly. If you're tired of feeling stuck, dip your toe in. Turn that skill, hobby, or idea into an SMB. Worst case? You learn a ton and keep your job. Best case? You build something that outlasts any recession. What's one small step you're thinking of taking? Drop it below—let's talk. #Entrepreneurship #SmallBusiness #StartABusiness #SMB #SideHustle #EconomicResilience #BootstrapStarting

Most people talk about entrepreneurship like it’s a highlight reel. The real work is: • making decisions with incomplete info • carrying risk quietly • being wrong, often That’s the part no one glamorizes—but it’s the job.

Worked with a couple of guys in Phoenix who did something similar. Spent $150k on acquisition of two existing brands (financed the rest via sba loans). Went all-in on rebrand local SEO. Held for 5 years, 20x return on initial $150k Neither had any experience with clinics.

Your regular reminder that a small handful of autism clinics sold for $64m - a 32x run rate multiple. $2m profit 64 patients $64m exit 23 months from founding to exit New locations broke even in 1.5 months These autism clinics and deals aren't nearly as controversial as you'd think: - Insurance usually pays for it - Parents are largely happy - Business owner and employees do well ABA Therapy is life changing for these kids. My good friend is an M&A advisor that worked this deal
