Today’s game is available FREE over the air on ABC. Yet people are still complaining…
So I don’t get the #Cubs game again today, but yet, I pay for Marquee Network monthly. Make it make sense.
It should not be this hard to watch your team that you PAY TO WATCH monthly. Terrible service.

Not anymore. There is 3 wild cards now. The Cubs sit a 0.5 game out of a WC spot and 3.5 back of the #1 WC. There is really only 2 teams out of 15 in the NL right now that are "out of it"
It's not tho. It's a race to the deadline. If you're bad, you sell and concede way before 162

They may have money coming off the books but the offense unit is going to be largely the same. So those guys need to figure it out. Bregman Swanson Nico Busch Pete aren’t going anywhere.

If it’s not the pitching, it’s the offense. Bullpen is fine but not elite. Injuries excuse only gets you so far. This Cubs team is about as expensive and relatable as the 2024 Cubs that had underperformance and dead money on the books. Lots of money off the books after this season, so certainly could be worse but I never thought it’d be worse than 2024 during the Jed Hoyer era. If they miss the postseason it will be worse.

Nobody on this team is aggressive with trying to get hits. They prefer the walk and the OBP.
Couple things there. They're small and big. Big: seiya has to crush that pitch it was a massive mistake. Small: man on third 2 out I wanna see Nico swinging 3-0. His job is to use his HIT tool to drive in runs. I want him being aggressive trying to get HITS. Batting AVERAGE.

The Cubs may have found something in Ryan Rolison. He’s 5-1 now with a 2.49 ERA. He’s averaging nearly 1 K per inning. And has stepped up in some big moments.

A big thing that Rolison is doing differently is he’s using a sweeper against lefties this year. This gives him a 3rd pitch against lefties. Hes eliminated the curveball almost entirely to lefties.

This is also why you can’t get caught up in small sample sizes. Webb is another example. He had a rough April/start. And now he’s probably their best reliever. PCA is becoming a superstar again.

If one of those hard hit balls that Kelly or Ramirez hit went for singles, Cubs would have won.

You can blame Jed but most of the offensive portion of this team is locked in for years. I still think Busch overall will be a really good hitter. Just not sure what you do with Nico Bregman and Swanson if they continue to look this bad
