My flight that I'm on had to move around the @SpaceX launch range, but we happened to be passing by Boca Chica right as it launched!
I was on the wrong side of the plane so I missed the launch and only got pictures of the plume, but still, how cool!

I've decided that I'm going to be less angry and less doomery this time around. I don't think it's going be any better (it will be worse) but I can't keep that up. Need to take care of myself and my kid and focus on the practical street-level things I can do for my neighbors.
So excited to have RCS on iPhone with iOS 18 but it's too bad it's not coming to most MVNOs for (potentially) months. Dampens the excitement of it dropping all at once:

Elon Musk when he was thinking about buying Twitter: Maybe a good way for Twitter to make money would be for me to introduce paid features in such a way that choosing whether or not to buy them serves as a referendum on me, personally.
In the "Only Murders in the Building" S4 premiere, Steve Martin only hums "Which of the Pickwick Triplets did it" for a second.
But it's been stuck in my head for hours.
On my flight yesterday there was a person sitting behind me who was asking the flight attendant how to put her seatback entertainment system into airplane mode as requested.
Surprisingly even-handed look at the initial success of the new Borealis Amtrak route here.

Sitting next to people on a first date at a restaurant is a secret delight you just can't pay for.
I still remember the meal we had in Munich sitting next to people who clearly just met online and were speaking English as the only language they had in common
Apropos of absolutely nothing except that this is the most hilarious of the long string of tweets @unwinderh made of Christian Mingle "cards" back in 2015 (and since this was before proper Twitter threading, and storify went kaput, it's hard to find this again)
I made a website. it's called "one million checkboxes dot com". it has one million checkboxes on it.
checking a box checks it for everyone.
that's it. have fun!
We're just a little over a year away from being further away from "Trials and Tribble-ations" as we that DS9 episode was from "The Trouble with Tribbles." (We'll be further away on 9/12/2025) #startrek
I feel like Minnesota may be leading in shots on goal, but Boston has had more "close calls" where the shots look like they might actually go in.
But that might just be the MN sports fan pessimism in me. #pwhl
Meta: One of the things we have gotten in trouble the most for in the past few years is the spread of misinformation on our platforms
Also Meta: If our new search bar can't find what you're looking for it will just make it up!
Imma need a citation on this one...Cannot imagine why a Roman statue would be shipped to London hundreds of years after the Romans left.
This kind of stuff is how we all get the facts wrong years later.
