Hey design folks! I have returned from my yearlong Twitter hiatus because I am building a new design team and need some help! I'm looking for roles across digital design (lead), illustration (contract) and UX design (lead). If you know of anyone looking send them my way!!!

I have never worked on my car for any length of time without ending up like an oil-covered duck from a Dawn commercial. โ€œOh Iโ€™m just gonna tinker for a bit...โ€ ...duck.

We play well with others.
Having a really great time right now working with other niche studios and agencies on the same clients. Shoutout to all the other shops doing good work. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’–

You are not your work. You are not your work. You are not your work. You are not your work. You are not your work. You are not your work. You are not your work. You are not your work. You are not your work. You are not your work. You are not your work. You are not your work.

Much more than any poster hanging in the pantry or inspirational town hall slogan, the act of working on something is how a company says: this embodies what we value. Everything that a business ships is a minimum valuable product.

Instead of addressing the problem head onthe founders just....deleted their accounts...which is maybe the highest form of privilege there is. Instead of a meaningful conversation they just left. In the meantime, marginalized folks are out here doing the good work.

And those same marginalized folks have every reason to see this as a community that has effectively let them down, because they did. The clear lack of introspection isn't really surprising as much as it is indicative of the work to be done to make this industry safe.

A sustainable solution to making experiences accessible and inclusive will happen only when people of privilege choose to dismantle a system that makes them feel special and powerful.

The problem is that the most effective design work for the business is usually the most โ€œboringโ€ design work for designers. Embrace your impact, not your pixels.

All other things equal, the best way to rise above a peer group is through the sheer amount of time you put into your craft. It is that simple, and it is that hard.
