The #OHTE Annual Conference 2025 - our best one yet? We think so! Last week’s conference brought together brilliant minds, new ideas, and a shared passion for history teaching. Here’s what made it special: ✅ New formats: We experimented with an OHTE Debate - which received great feedback – and dedicated entire sessions to dialogue with young students. #LearnersFirst 📘 New knowledge: We launched our latest report, “Economic Crises in History Teaching,” and presented a brand-new #dataviz project based on its data. 🎙️ New voices: We heard from outstanding experts across multiple disciplines and enjoyed an inspiring #OHTE Talk by Yascha Mounk. 💭 Key takeaways • Disinformation, misinformation, and manipulation are growing threats to democracy, undermining public trust and distorting truth. • History can be political. In times of AI, hybrid wars, and social networks, it becomes a democratic act - giving citizens the tools to think critically and defend democracy. • Students want to rehumanise history.
