What is deeply troubling is not the noise of political propaganda or the endless media theatrics surrounding this issue. The real concern is that certain individuals, with the consent or silence of this young boy’s parents and relatives, have turned him into a political tool for personal gain. From one political office to another, from one politician to the next, and even across different states, this boy is allegedly being paraded around with questionable documents, manipulated age claims, and fabricated credentials all in pursuit of money, relevance, and public sympathy. But at what cost? In the process of chasing temporary fame and financial benefits, they are destroying the future of this young man. Tomorrow, when reality catches up with these inconsistencies, how will he defend these false claims attached to his identity? Why the desperation? Why exploit a vulnerable young boy and weaponize his condition to attract attention and political patronage? This dangerous trend of creating “political almajiris” must be condemned by every responsible stakeholder. It is an insult to our constituency, an insult to genuine leaders and stakeholders who have dedicated themselves to the progress and welfare of the people, and an insult to the integrity of public service itself. Politics and leadership is far beyond social media hype or emotional manipulation. Those pushing this boy for selfish interests should tread carefully. There are legal and moral consequences for exploiting a minor, falsifying records, and misleading the public for political advantage. The boy and those sponsoring this agenda should understand that public office and leadership demand credibility, competence, integrity, and accountability, not staged sympathy and manufactured narratives. There’s a petition already.

This project is aimed at facilitating the smooth movement of people and goods, enhancing connectivity, and improving the overall standard of living within the community. The newly constructed road will play a crucial role in boosting the local economy by providing better access for residents and businesses, thereby adding value to properties in the area. My commitment to infrastructure development remains unwavering, as I continue to prioritize initiatives that foster economic growth and improve the livelihoods of Sabon Gari Federal Constituency residents. Regardless of political affiliations, I call on all stakeholders to unite and contribute to making Sabon Gari a beacon of progress. The construction of this road marks the beginning of a transformative journey for the community, and I believe it will positively impact the lives of all residents. Today, I was honored to receive a delegation of leaders from Unguwan Gwaiba, led by the Executive Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government Council and accompanied by the District Head of Basawa, The Village Heads of Basawa and Bomo and other respected personalities. The purpose of the visit is to express their appreciation for the petition I recently laid to the House, regarding the long-standing land dispute between the community and the Nigerian Army's 11 Field Engineer Regiment in Basawa. I am immensely grateful for their visit, It is heartening to see the community actively engaged in resolving this contentious issue and acknowledging my efforts in this regard. Their support only strengthens my resolve to serve our constituency with unwavering dedication. I assure them, and the entire community of Unguwan Gwaiba, that I am fully committed in resolving this land dispute. I would like to extend my well wishes to the delegation, as they embark on their journey back home. I pray to Allah SWT for their safe return, and may the spirit of harmony and cooperation prevail as we navigate through the complexities of this issue together. Hon. Yesterday, I had the privilege of holding the first interface meeting between the Managing Director of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and the House Committee on FERMA as Deputy Chair. It was a crucial meeting that brought together key stakeholders in the sector to discuss the state of our nation's roads and explore strategies for improvement. The meeting commenced with an introduction of the members of the House Committee and the Management of the agency FERMA. It was evident from the start that both parties shared a common goal to ensure the provision and maintenance of quality roads that enhance the socio-economic development of our nation. The Managing Director of FERMA presented a comprehensive report on the current state of federal roads across the country. The report highlighted the challenges faced by FERMA in maintaining and rehabilitating the roads, including insufficient funding, inadequate manpower, and bureaucratic bottlenecks. It also emphasized the urgent need for increased investment in road infrastructure to enhance connectivity and facilitate economic growth. The House Committee members actively engaged in discussions, asking pertinent questions and seeking clarifications on specific issues. We expressed our commitment to addressing the challenges faced by FERMA and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the agency and the legislative arm of government to achieve meaningful results. During the meeting, various suggestions and recommendations were put forward to improve the maintenance and rehabilitation of federal roads. These included exploring alternative funding mechanisms such as public-private partnerships, leveraging technology for efficient road management, and strengthening the legal framework governing road maintenance in Nigeria. Overall, the first interface meeting between the Managing Director of FERMA and the House Committee was a productive and constructive engagement. It demonstrated a shared commitment to addressing the challenges faced by our road infrastructure and working towards sustainable solutions. I am confident that with continued collaboration and proactive measures, we can achieve significant improvements in our nation's road network, thereby promoting economic growth and enhancing the well-being of our citizens.

I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of the @OfficialPDPNig national women leader, Prof Stella Effah-Attoe. My heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and the entire PDP family. May her soul rest in peace, and may her legacy of dedication and leadership continue to inspire us all.
