I think we’re living through a weird phase in NFTs
There are more collections than ever, yet truly great art still feels surprisingly rare
You’d think people would be overwhelmed by high-quality art at this point, but I honestly don’t think that’s the case
A lot of teams are rushing to launch as fast as possible, and quality is usually the first thing sacrificed.
At the same time, very few new artists are entering the space.
Most of my friends working as artists earn good money in games, film, fashion, or tech ($80k-$200k)
They get stability, benefits, and far less public criticism than they would in Web3
And good artists are expensive
That’s not a bad thing, it’s just reality
If a project isn’t artist-led, creating a genuinely strong collection can become very expensive very quickly
Then there’s AI
More and more collections are being generated instead of crafted
And while AI can be useful, it often comes at the cost of authenticity, uniqueness, and attention to detail
Maybe that’s why collections that feel genuinely human still stand out so much
Just a thought ♡
