It's looking so much more refined and somewhat bearable on macOS/iOS 27. Worth jumping on the betas for that alone.
the thing i'm most excited about in macOS 27 is that they're doing away with that godforsaken floating liquid glass sidebar.

This has been awesome to work on. The team has smashed it. Looking forward to getting stuck into more skins and polishing what we have ready for GA.

Video.js v10 beta is here! Video.js v10 is a complete rewrite combining four (!!) open source players into one. With 88% smaller default bundles, first-class React and TypeScript support, composable architecture, and beautiful new skins, you’re sure to fall back in love with your video player ♥️ Read @heff’s blog (and check out the site’s new look): videojs.org/blog/videojs-v10…

There have been loads of really useful CSS features added recently, but being able to derive colors, especially from currentColor, is a game changer. For example: `oklch(from currentColor l c h / 0.8)` …gives me a live 0.8-alpha version of currentColor. So handy!👌🔥

And of course, it's built into Tailwind with `<bg|text|etc>-current/<opacity>` 😍

If you're looking for someone who can designgineer, record and produce videos, teach, talk on stage, be a positive team player... Hit me up. Looking for remote roles as I live in a small town in Australia.

Video.js is getting completely rebuilt. Created by our co-founder @heff, we're stepping up as the new corporate steward, and are doing a complete rewrite: composable and framework-native. Shoutout to the Video.js team: @gkatsev, Garrett Singer, @luwes, @mihar_22, @sam_potts, @cjpillsbury, @QualabsUy, and @CastLabs. Read Steve’s blog: mux.com/blog/videojs Check out the tech preview announced at Demuxed: v10.videojs.org Kick the tires, and let us know what you think. This is just the beginning of what we can build together.

Still broken on the public release of Safari 26 on Sequoia. You can downgrade via the linked package in the replies. I reported it ages ago but seemingly ignored. I guess Apple didn't bother testing the compact view on Sequoia. Whoops.

Apple seems to have broken the tab controls in compact view in the last few versions of STP and Safari beta. The only way to use the browser in this broken state is either use the separate tab view or: - ⌘ R for refresh - ⌘ W to close the tab - ⌘ L to focus the URL input

It's crazy this is *still* broken several versions later. I'm convinced my feedback in feedback assistant just goes to /dev/null 😅

Obviously I've reported it via the Feedback app but in the many years providing feedback in the beta program I've never had a single response.

It's amazing to me that no one tested this view before deciding to release it. I understand why though, they're dropping it in macOS 26, for whatever reason. I think 26 will be the first one I skip for a little while. "Liquid Glass" looks pretty bad right now.

This is a nice change in a sea of underwhelming ones; the inconsistent radii on windows, the seemingly random box shadows on toolbars (Finder is a mess) and more. Hopefully they can give it some polish before the public release.

Lots in the all the Liquid Glass discourse is all the tiny but very substantial improvements in design throughout iOS, iPadOS and macOS, making the entire thing just feel more polished. Love it.

It's so nice having an easy way to animate to `height: auto` now. Support is a bit limited right now but this is a good example of something that can be progressively enhanced.
