Stocks usually go up most of the time. That's 100% true.

Sounds like the move is to head to the parade route now and sleep I your spot for 12 hours. Good idea?

Lower Manhattan will be car-free tomorrow morning for the Knicks Championship Parade. Starting at 7AM, south of Canal Street in Manhattan is shut down to vehicular traffic. The FDR and West Side Highway will remain open. Traffic coming off the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan will only be able to go northbound on the FDR. Plan ahead and use public transportation.

Jefferies: "From a word count point of view, the statement released today is 130 words, 62% shorter than the 341 word statement released in April. Broadly, the statement looks much more like those issued after meetings by the Greenspan Fed in the 1990s than the lengthier statements released in the post-GFC era."

One of my favorite things about markets is its ability to make people who’ve agreed with each other for years suddenly discover they are actually at odds

Today will be the worst "first Fed Day" for any new chair since 1994 if the S&P's current 1% decline holds into the close. (Prior to 1994 they didn't announce policy decisions on the day of the FOMC meeting.)
We've only had three Fed chairs experience their first "Fed Day" with markets open prior to Warsh today. All three times, the S&P was higher heading into the 2 PM rate decision only to finish in the red on the day. Let's see if Warsh can be the first to get a green close.

I like β€˜good day’ better than β€˜good afternoon.’ It’s a bit more inclusive. Less confusing for people watching from the west coast

Q: Did you see the Fed is holding rates? TRUMP: It's alright. Whatever. Q: And it looks like they might even raise them later this year TRUMP: It could happen. I mean, it's hard to believe. It just keeps a country down.

Replying to @TheStalwart
I’m biased but I think Fed reporters do a much better job than say White House reporters in asking questions that elicit useful information and following up when the questions are evaded.

"I think financial markets perform best when they react to incoming data. I think the financial markets work less efficiently when they ask a question, 'How will the Federal Reserve react to that incoming information?'" - Warsh
