@WHO info states that monkeypox virus (MPXV) is transmissible through face-to-face contact and respiratory secretions with or without physical contact. @WHO is supporting DRC @SanteMinistre for transmission studies to better understand mpox who.int/multi-media/details/…

Apparently the @WHO monitors rumours and misinformation on mpox. A key finding: “there have been discussions around transmission reiterating (…) the rumour that "monkeypox is airborne"” Also @WHO: “Examples of pathogens that spread via airborne transmission: monkeypox virus”🤔
