Memorial Day is a time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Marine Pfc. Helmut Fred Behlert was killed in the Battle of Saipan in 1944 at 27 years old. 81 years later, he was laid to rest at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.
