RimbaWatch has sighted an EIA submitted by Sarawak Energy to construct a fossil fuel-fired power plant near Bintulu. The IPCC have warned that all current and planned fossil fuel assets are incompatible with a 1.5 degree future.

RimbaWatch calls for end to plans to convert areas within the Chini Forest Reserve into timber plantations. The proposed project risks the forest reserve's UNESCO status, could negatively affect the tanah adat of Orang Asli and set back Malaysia's climate ambitions.

After the court case in Miri High Court last Monday where Samling is suing SAVE Rivers over alleged defamation (trial postpone to 18th-20th Sept.) - our chairman, Peter Kallang is called by the police to be interviewed at the Pejabat Ketua Polis IPD Miri on 23rd May at 1130am.
