A massive THANK YOU to all our funders and advisers who have got us to this point! 🙏🏻 First up is of course @luhc who have provided £300k of funding from the Community Ownership Fund. Round 3 opens next week - more details here gov.uk/government/publicatio…
And last but not least, @PlunkettFoundat have been an invaluable source of advice through the whole process and our advisers @MctaggartMark@AlisonMacklin2 and @CBuckham expertly steered us through the grant applications and @comshares Community Standard Mark process.
We have fantastic news - we have just bought The Step! Our purchase completed today and it is finally in community ownership.
With price negotiations behind us, we can now reveal that our share offer smashed its target and raised over £285k! A huge thank you to everyone! 💛
We did it! We have reached our target and closed our share offer. A huge thank you to everyone for all your support! We will continue to update you on our progress (but please bear with us while we have a little rest!).

Last day of this HUGE community campaign. £100 gets you a share of The Step when the doors open again for the first time since March 2020. Genuinely heartwarming stuff, locals scrapping their way to this point. A special North London pub, will be again: savethestep.com
This community effort looks like a great way for residents of Bowes & Bounds Green to support the neighbourhood & reinforce Myddleton Road as a thriving hub. But the deadline is *19 March* so hurry! 🏃♀️ 🏃🏿♂️ 🏃🏽 @HaringeyCyclist@carlafrancome@BowesLTNsavethestep.com
Over 600 local people have filled in our survey telling us what The Step meant to them, and what they want from the new business. This will be the basis on which a tenant is chosen, so that the new business matches the community’s wishes. #bowespark#boundsgreen#communitypubs
ALT The Step was the place you would arrange with friends to meet for coffee/lunch/dinner. A great place with good music, good food and a welcoming atmosphere. I would love to see the building used again for the community.
