Good morning, everyone! Hope you’re all doing well, As promised, we’ve been busy behind the scenes and have started rolling out some exciting new enhancements to the radar. If you’re accessing the radar on a desktop, you’ll notice a new scrolling bar at the bottom of the screen labelled VDL2. VDL2 is a digital data protocol transmitted directly by aircraft, and can carry a wealth of information, including diagnostics, ACARS messages, position reports, altitude data, and even real-time route updates β€” all decoded live as aircraft come into range. How to use it: Click on any aircraft on the radar, and if we’ve received a VDL2 message from it, the details will appear in the bar at the bottom. When a specific aircraft is selected, you’ll see SELECTED in the bottom right corner. To return to the full scrolling feed showing all received aircraft, simply click the β†Ί refresh icon on the right-hand side. This is currently a BETA feature on desktop only β€” mobile support is coming soon! We’ll be monitoring it closely for any issues, but we hope it adds an extra layer of detail and enjoyment to your radar experience. As always, feedback is very welcome! πŸ“·, Have a good day/weekend!

The US is highly unlikely to employ nuclear weapons against Iran. Beyond the moral and political implications, there are clear strategic, legal, and operational constraints that make such an action extraordinarily improbable. Here's why, US nuclear doctrine limits the use of nuclear weapons to extreme circumstances, such as existential threats to the nation or its allies. Iran’s actions, while destabilising, do not meet the threshold that US policy outlines for nuclear employment. International law and treaty obligations, including the UN Charter and long‑standing norms against first use, create significant legal barriers. Any nuclear strike would violate global non‑proliferation norms and trigger severe diplomatic fallout. Strategic consequences would be catastrophic. A nuclear strike would risk regional escalation, threaten US forces and partners across the Middle East, and potentially draw in other major powers. The US national security establishment consistently prioritises preventing exactly that kind of uncontrolled escalation. Conventional superiority makes nuclear use unnecessary. The US possesses overwhelming precision‑strike, cyber, and intelligence capabilities that can achieve military objectives without resorting to nuclear weapons. Taken together, these factors make it clear that the United States is not only not allowed to use nuclear weapons in this context, but also has no strategic incentive to do so.
