The preliminary investigation indicates this incident was related to other similar occurrences today in other surrounding jurisdictions. Officers are clearing the area and the investigation will be ongoing. The library will remain closed for this evening and reopen tomorrow.(2/2)

UPDATE: The bomb threat today at the library was not bonafide. A thorough search of the library’s interior and exterior was completed by the Schaumburg Police Department. There were no suspicious items found during the search. (1/2)

The library has been evacuated out of an abundance of caution and is closed until further notice while the investigation continues. The investigation is ongoing. An update will be provided as more information becomes available. (2/2)

Schaumburg Police are currently investigating a bomb threat at the Schaumburg Township District Library that was received in an online chat. Police responded quickly to the incident and are on scene securing the area. Nothing suspicious has been found as of this time. (1/2)

Meet our new pet, Rocky! We hosted a program where we painted rocks to create the snake. You can keep him growing! Paint a rock and add it to Rocky's tail.
Rocky was created in partnership with Schaumburg IL Rocks Facebook Group. Rock Snakes will be coming to each branch soon!
