Malachi Smith stepped up huge with Silas Demary sidelined. The Dayton transfer brought defensive grit and energy off the bench. Mali knocked down a timely 3-pointer to spark the offense when UConn was ice-cold from deep, added a driving layup, and provided the composure needed in a dogfight.
