A Mottled Sole from an estuary in Darwin. Finding these fish perfectly camouflaged on rocks and logs is always a thrill! Such weird fish... Can you spot their mouth?
Iβm presenting my Confirmation of Candidature seminar on Monday at 11am (AEST). So, if you want to listen to me talk about geckos for an hour, let me know and Iβll send you the zoom link!
Shingleback (Tiliqua rugosa)
Despite being one of the most common skinks in South Australia, Iβll never get sick of seeing Shinglebacks (and their gnarly attitudes!). This one was found soaking up some winter sun a few days ago near the Flinders Ranges.

A calling Short-footed frog (Cyclorana brevipes) from outback Queensland last night. The rain makes it difficult to find geckos but the abundance of frogs is a nice consolation πΈ #WildOz
Glad I could contribute some photos to the new Calamaria of Borneo phone app. Itβs free and available now for ios and android devices. Go and download it!
