I live for road trips, it's in my blood. My granddad used to drive around Death Valley just for fun(in the 40s). My mom & I drove around just to get lost & find our way home(in the 70s). I'm not truly happy unless I'm seeing some place I've never seen before

#BridgesThursday Old Route 66 bridge, just west of Glenrio, Texas/NM. Timber stringer, built in 1931, used until this alignment of Route 66, "dirt 66", was moved a little north in 1952. The 1952 route has all but been obliterated by the interstate.

Madonna of the Trail monument in Lamar, Colorado. At almost 100 years old, this is one of a dozen identical memorials created to honor pioneer women. There is one located in each state along the National Old Trails Road.
