When Côte d'Ivoire play, all eyes will be on Yan Diomandé. But we're just as excited to watch Bazoumana Touré make his FIFA World Cup debut. Still just 20 years old, Touré is a left-footed left winger—somewhat or a rarity in modern football. The first thing you’ll notice is the sheer speed and directness of his game: he is a ball-carrying winger that attacks straight, and attacks fast. His explosiveness enables him to consistently create separation against defenders over short and long distance before hitting the byline and delivering vicious crosses across the face of goal. That’s his bread and butter. And it's all reflected in off-the-charts @SkillCorner data. When compared to Bundesliga wingers, he ranked first for three Physical Indices: Speed, Explosiveness and Intensity; Diomandé ranked first for Agility. Touré also ranked first for Carrying Progression and second for Carrying Penetration. Les Éléphants have the youngest squad at this summer's tournament and their pair of 2006-born wingers are two of the most electrifying you will see.

Ayyoub Bouaddi has a big future. Here's my profile on his athletic potential, clean passing, elusive dirbbling, stretchy tackling, all to explain why he would be a good fit for Arsenal—and pretty much every other big club going. scoutedftbl.com/why-arsenal-…

As far as breakout performances go, you won't see many more obvious than the one Ayyoub Bouaddi has just put in against Brazil; an unflappable 18-year-old on the biggest stage of his career so far. That performance will always be a reference point for everyone that watched.

That was a very good first half against Brazil.
Ayyoub Bouaddi was the next big thing in French football. Now, that honour belongs to Morocco. What sets Bouaddi apart - and has done since breaking into senior football - is his unflappable maturity. He looks like a player that has over 500 matches to his name, and that manifests in multiple ways on the pitch. Chief among them is his physicality: he’s tall and lean with long legs that carry him effortlessly across the pitch, packing an intensity that is indicative of his elite-level credentials. Progressive ball-carrying is where he moves the needle in possession, as highlighted in @SkillCorner data, with the propensity to evade pressure before driving the ball forward into space. His leginess is a significant advantage in his ability to chase down attackers and stretch in to win the ball back. This tournament could be a launchpad for the 19-year-old. We will be there.

No less than 20 of Morocco's 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup were either born in or represented youth teams of other nations such as Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Canada. A complete overhaul of domestic infrastructure, player development and coaching is integral to Morocco's burgeoning reputation on the global football scene, but the reform of scouting abroad was just as significant. A concept not usually associated with international football, completely revamping Morocco's approach to recruitment ensured the national pool was enriched by their diverse diaspora. Dual national players are now scouted much earlier. Reaching them before they represented their country of birth was ideal, convincing them to join Moroccan academies even better; early adoption of the project's central values was key. As a result, scouting and recruitment became aggressive. Morocco operated like a club. Osian Roberts, Technical Director of the Morocco national team from 2019 to 2021, explained the set-up when speaking to Ed Aarons for The Guardian in 2022: "We had full-time scouts in Holland, Germany, France, Spain and Scandinavia that are monitoring these players on a regular basis. There was a database for all of those who were eligible for Morocco in all those countries... it was necessary given the amount of players living overseas. That department has been extremely important." The new remit was again based on the model of the Mohammed VI Football Academy, with dual nationals now scouted intensely from the age of 12. The youngest player in Switzerland’s squad, Johan Manzambi has a burgeoning reputation as one of Europe’s most exciting prospects to live up to at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Manzambi is an all-phase midfielder that excels at sequencing actions together. He can turn defence into attack in an instant, stretching a leg in to win the ball back before pivoting forward, bursting past a defender, riding a challenge, then progressing into space either with a driving carry or punchy pass. When looking at his @SkillCorner profile, it's the ball-carrying that stands out. Per 30 Minutes of Team in Possession, Manzambi embarked on at least three more Long Carries than any other Bundesliga midfielder last season. He also ranks first for Long Carries with a Forward Trajectory. This effortless effectiveness at covering large distances with the ball saw him rank as one of the highest-scoring Ground Eaters in the German top-flight. Even then, there is plenty more to his skillset that we're excited to see him display on the biggest stage of them all.

If you subscribe to the theory that football is becoming overrun with robotic players, Kerim Alajbegović will restore your faith in the game. A silky maverick that loves to be in possession of the ball so he can create as many shooting opportunities as possible. If he gets a yard, he will let fly. And he is very good at creating space. All of this is reflected in his @SkillCorner profile: he ranked first among Wide Attackers in the 2025/26 Austrian Bundesliga season for Possession Average Duration and Drawing Pressure. He drops out of pressure to receive in space, setting up a gauntlet of opponents to beat himself. And he backs himself to succeed. As for the Superpower analysis, he ranked first for both Passing in terms of Progression and Penetration while also ranking first for Carrying Possession and second for Carrying Production. Translation: Alajbegović seeks possession as often as possible and makes it his mission to create shots. This kid is fearless.

Tottenham selling Luka Vušković now would be like if Arsenal sold William Saliba after the loan to Marseille. He should be the cornerstone.

We do enjoy watching Elliot Anderson deliver the ball into the box from the De Bruyne Spaces™. Consistently hits dangerous areas with dangerous levels of whip and dip. Difficult to stop, let alone deal with.

Every so often, a player breaks into senior football at an age that is, by itself, remarkable. You don’t need fancy data models or a worldwide network of scouts to spot it: a big, red flashing klaxon simply appears in the air and a disembodied tannoy blares the announcement. A sixteen-year-old is starting in the 2. Bundesliga. Scouts will have flocked to watch Kennet Eichhorn like flies since it first became evident his emergence into Hertha BSC’s first team was no passing fancy, but the beginning of a serious career. There, they’ll have born witness to a remarkable scene: a teenager resisting the usual hallmarks of a ‘wonderkid’ in favour of an anachronistic maturity. Eichhorn is not necessarily a headline-grabber; he is rarely swerving through German midfields with flair and youthful exuberance. Instead he plays with the steadiness of a marshal twice his age. He is emotionally stable, physically present, and technically functional. He looks already like a normal and unfussy member of a senior squad; totally unremarkable, in fact, until you happen to glance at his age. That's why Liverpool, Bayern München, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester City and more have presented the 16-year-old with offers to join their club. Emmanuel Mbemba is an exciting prospect that would represent an exciting acquisition for Arsenal—or any other club. He made our Team of the Tournament at the 2025 #U17EURO, standing out for a dynamic profile with loads of upside on both sides of the ball. High-level future.
