I learned about the HUD while learning how to make my own games with @MIT's @scratch ecosystem.
Mini shill, but the projects by other people there gave me so much foundational knowledge for me being able to read video game files while bug exploiting, and I'm so thankful.

I have a bad habit of clowning on games that are like “press A to jump” or “move right stick to move camera” forgetting that legitimately that game might be someone’s first
but actually when the hell did I learn what a HUD was? Like was it explained in instruction manuals?
